Drawing for Textiles

Really it was just what I wanted...a relaxed atmostphere in a small group with stimulating and useful input from you with ideas which I can use to get me going on my art work. There was time to experiment with the techniques. The drawing exercises were particularly good. Although I've done alot of a drawing before it's always useful to be reminded of ways back in to the creative process. I think you are skilled at creating a good atmostphere and inspiring us to work.

Encounter new ways of mark making; using a playful approach you’ll develop your ideas into stitch and dye to produce a substantial body of visual information. This workshop aims to enhance your independent creative work and give it a fresh direction.

Day 1 looks at 'line' - new ways of seeing and drawing, then how to translate this into stitch. Please bring your sewing machine.

Day 2 deals with 'colour' - you'll observe, collage and translate, putting colour on to cloth.

Lunch, refreshments and any other materials are all included.
